2. Numbers as General Type

When number text is entered, Excel treats it as numeric type, and the display becomes right-aligned, although the current cell data type is still shown as General.

Note that when inputting: (12.345), Excel will automatically convert the cell content to: -12.345.

4. Numbers with Currency Symbols

If there is an error in the currency value, Excel will highlight it in red for us.

6. Inputting Fractions with 0 + Space at the Beginning

If we want to input a fraction, directly inputting 1/2, Excel will typically interpret it as a date. In this case, we can set the cell to fraction format in advance and then input it.

We can also precede the fraction with a 0 and a space, which will also be correctly recognized as a fraction.

7. Long Numbers

When inputting a number text greater than 11 digits, Excel will convert it to scientific notation, saving it in Scientific format.

Note that Excel supports a maximum of 15 digits. If the number exceeds 15 digits, the digits beyond the 15th will be stored as zero.

For numbers exceeding 15 digits, it is recommended to save them in Text format.
